PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES

Pause in His presence

I sit quietly before the Lord before I begin my prayer and I empty my mind of all the worries and agenda items that usually occupy my thoughts. Once my mind is still, I invite God to speak to me of the things He deems important for me today. My desire is to follow His will and His way each day. I also invite the Holy Spirit to indwell my soul so I have His guidance throughout my day. When you are ready, join me in the following prayer.

Rejoice and praise Him

I praise You today my Father in Heaven, for your faithfulness to meet with me each day as I pray. The business of my day can often lead me to be anxious as I race and strive to accomplish everything. You are a refuge from my busyness and struggles. The peace that comes from knowing and trusting You gets me through my day. You guard my heart and my mind with the sanctifying blood of Your Son Christ Jesus. There is nowhere I go that You do not find me. Thank You, God, that you stand with me and guide me with Your righteous right hand of protection. You are a trustworthy and awesome God. Philippians 4:6–7

Ask Him

Your Word says that when I believe and come to You in faith and ask it will be given, when I seek You I will find You, and when I knock You will open doors for me. I ask, in faith, today Lord for wisdom to discern Your will and the strength to carry out the plans You have for me this day. My desire is to be Your hands and feet on this earth and to be salt and light to all whom I encounter today, in Your name and for Your glory. I can do nothing without You, Jehovah. May all I think and all I say today honor and please You, my Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Matthew 7:72 Chronicles 1:7–13Psalm 19:14

Yield to Him

I diligently wait and watch for You to show Yourself in me today, Jehovah Jireh. May I be alert to the needs of others and be ready to serve, as if I were serving You, my God. I hope never to be caught off guard or be found unprepared. Speak Lord, for your servant is listening. In Jesus’ Holy Name I pray. Amen. Mark 13:32–371 Samuel 3:9
